MIXTAPE
Driven by the quote “The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success,” keeps “Chance” 20 year old Atlanta native Artist/Song-Writer motivated to continue to set the bar higher for the future of hip hop. At an early age Chance was influenced by his father, a former Lead singer of a Local band in the Late 1970’s. “I remember every night my father would play numerous smooth jazz , R&B, and funk records from the early 1950’s -1980’s and in less than 3 seconds of when it started he could tell me who created the song, and the exact date ; it seemed as if he studied the music in a sense,” says Chance. The infatuation Chance’s father had with music, created the Love he has for music, and explains why he is such an perfectionist when it comes to the craft, artistry, and sincerity he put in making or writing every track. Chance was raised being taught every aspect of the music such as: the business, history, theory, and more .
Chance is one of the youngest but most talented artist/writers of his time, Many writers/blogs has labeled his lyrics clever , creative, innovative, and refreshing hip-hop to the ear. Chance started rapping at the age of twelve greatly influenced by the late Outkast, Common, Jay Z, Erykah Badu, Ryan Leslie, Lupe fiasco, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne. On a musical journey to be different, listeners will always receive something ground- breaking, original from this young man. Chance began performing around Atlanta in 2006- 2007 with various rap groups but eventually left the group to pioneer on other solo projects. Influences: Outkast, Jay z, Kanye West, Erykah Badu, Ryan Leslie, Lupe Fiasco, and more…
“What makes me different From Other Artist”
In the state of Hip Hop, many artist feel they have to make or create records that fit the newest trend or movement instead of being original and innovative, or music that involves a lot of boasting, bragging, and false exaggerations; “not to say I don’t do these things” however what makes me different is I use a method called “Perfect Flaw” which basically means that I encourage or embrace my flaws in my music which makes it easier for my listeners and fans to relate to. It gives listeners a sense of awareness or realization that I’m still an individual that goes through the same day-to-day highs and lows life brings, in addition to they can feel the sincerity, honesty, and passion that’s missing in todays modern music. Sometimes I feel I created my own nitch or stamp by adding my personal experiences in songs like Conceited, Dummy Mission and Hero Girl, which are all songs from my debut mixtape : “Backseat Daydreamers”. With my witty personality, clever rhyme scheme, and comedic theatrics in my songs it creates style that can’t be duplicated or imitated, furthermore which makes me different from a lot of new artist we see worldwide on a day to day basis. Utmost Ent, CEO Duane Ferrel believes and says “Chance is the future Hip-Hop”
