With a mixture of the Caribbean J-Star was born on the island ST.Kitts and raised in the US Virgin Islands. Growing up in a Jehovah's witnesses house hold spirituality was very important. J-Star started writing music at the age of  thirteen. As he grew older he started doing talent shows in school and around the island. When J-Star was a senior in high school he got his first born baby girl. After he graduated in 2002, he joined the Us Navy to provide for his daughter and fund his musical career. During his enlistment he recorded two mixtapes S.M.D and i Rock Cities.After his four years in the military J-Star got out with a honorable discharge and moved to Orlando Fl. Later on J-Star moved back to the Virgin Islands ST.Thomas. In 2010 he went out and lost one of his neighborhood friends due to gun violence. His friend was shot 21 times and J-Star was shot in the right foot. After J-Star recoved 2012 he recorded his third mixtape The Secret To Life.The Secret spoke about J-Star's life and the challenges also togheterness upliftment and motivation.J-Star moved to Atlanta in 2013 where he attended an Aviation school. He got his second daughter in 2014 and Graduated in 2016. One year later J-Star got back in the studio and started working on his Ep. He worked with a multiple of producers and vocal engineers. The Ep was completed and released in 2017. J-Star named the Ep Perfect Timing it was mixed by square records out of Mobay Jamaica.
